The Napier Patatfees is very much a long-weekend of entertainment and participation
for every member of the family. This year, we will showcase -- for those who enjoy the finer things in life -- one of the town's little secrets.
On Friday, 16 June at 17h30, 'Napier Works', an art exhibition curated by Edie Wilson-Smith,
will be launched at a pop-up venue in the main road, the Napier Country Lodge, 88 Sarel Cilliers Street.
From oils and pastels to photographs and jewellery,
works from both professional and amateur creatives will be on show -- and on sale.
"Secretly busy in our village are at least 40 artists," says Wilson-Smith. And she should know, being both a painter and a teacher of art to adults.
"These artists will be exhibiting at 'Napier Works' this year during Patatfees weekend."
The exhibition, which runs from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon
(16-18 June 2017), promises to be a treat not just for those who love fine art in its various forms,
but also for those who know an investment or a bargain when they see it.
