On 17 June 2017, the main road of Napier will be host to our second street parade.
The creators of Napier's famous scarecrows and those who will march -- wearing their "We, the Champions" / "Ons, die Kampione" medals -- down the main street as part of the
Patatfees Parade on the afternoon of Saturday 17 June, will celebrate this theme of diverse champions living on every street.
"The Patatfees is the highlight of the Napier calendar," says Beverley Pender, a member of the volunteer Patatfees committee, "and it's the perfect opportunity
to celebrate those 'little' people among us who are actually great in their respective fields, especially those who endeavour to improve the lives of others.
"Our former president Nelson Mandela said that 'A winner is a dreamer who never gives up'," she added.
"Whether the winners at the Patatfees achieve their dreams by beating the stop watch or by overcoming adversity, the "We, the Champions" / "Ons, die Kampioene"
theme is aimed at showcasing and celebrating those achievements."
